Toon Tracker Video DVD 076 -
The Puppy's Amazing Rescue, Scruffy
and Other Weekend Specials

This DVD features three animated specials from Ruby-Spears Enterprises, originally seen on ABC-TV's Weekend Special series in the early 1980's.

The Puppy's Amazing Rescue

The third in a series of four Puppy specials from Ruby-Spears Enterprises, The Puppy's Amazing Rescue originally aired January 26, 1980 on ABC-TV. The special has Petey the Pup and his girlfriend Dolly becoming separated during a massive snow slide while celebrating Tommy's birthday at his parents' mountaintop cabin. The specials inspired a Saturday morning series, The Puppy's New Adventures (later renamed The Puppy's Further Adventures and The Puppy's Great Adventure).

Scruffy

Based on the book by Jack Stoneley, Scruffy tells the story of a stray dog whose search for a home takes her on a series of adventures with life-threatening escapes. This Ruby-Spears Enterprises special was originally seen on ABC-TV in three parts on October 4, 11 and 18, 1980.

Bunnicula, The Vampire Rabbit

This Ruby-Spears Enterprises special, adapted from the book Bunnicula, a Rabbit-Tale of Mystery by Deborah and James Howe, depicts the story of the Monroe family and their strange bunny, as told by Harold, the family's intelligent dog. Originally aired January 9, 1982 on ABC-TV.
